The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, caused massive destruction across several countries. It killed approximately over 227,000 people in around 14 countries. These states suffered huge infrastructural damages, shortage of food, water and economic damages*.
Tsunami was one disaster whose intensity was unprecedented, unimaginable. It was visible when post the Indian Ocean tsunami we could see boats everywhere, on the trees, on terraces, on roads. The mighty boats which could stay afloat in the ravaging seas didn’t stand a chance in front of the tsunami waves.
