Disasters takes away all the possessions you have had gathered in your life time. Once we start moving forwards and start accepting the reality, we manage to find courage and strength to stand again and build a life. The place and our homes might never look the same again, reminiscing through the rubble is the last attempt to save those memories perhaps.

I still remember that as I was clicking the photo, I thought about how even when everything else around this hand pump had been washed away, it stood alone, withstanding the powerful flood, like a lone soldier.
